The UNC VR System was an early VR system, developed in the Computer Science Department of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.



Developers: Warren Robinett was the project manager. Fred Brooks and Henry Fuchs were the supervising faculty members. Various VR apps were implemented by grad students in the department.

Warren Robinett implemented the first version of the core system. Rich Holloway implemented the VR system's core library (VLib). Mark Mine made a fly-through of the solar system. Drew Davidson made an in-VR modeler app. Numerous other grad students contributed to various aspects of the VR system: Erik Erikson, Bill Brown, Russ Taylor, Jim Chung, and many more.
